At the high school level, various special programs such as medical, visual and performing arts as well as Centers of Excellence programs focus on health sciences, business and governmental affairs, as well as engineering.

The Creative Sciences and Arts Magnets which includes programs at Park Forest Elementary, Villa del Rey Elementary, Park Forest Middle and Belaire High, provides high-quality educational programs through implementation of a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) theme-based curriculum. Using a consistent, logical approach for the development and implementation of thematic instruction, the four magnets are established upon a strong school culture with an emphasis on delivering an outstanding education through highly-qualified and specialized teachers. The programs at these schools were created with the Magnet Assistance Schools Program Grant, awarded to the East Baton Rouge Parish School System in 2017.
